THE CORCORAN GROUP
NEWS & VIEWS
NEW YORK CITY | JANUARY 2015

Dear Friends, Family, Customers and Clients:

I bring you my first attempt at a Newsletter for the coming months and years of Restaurants and Real Estate in NYC. New York City is the most exciting place on earth, and there is nowhere that has more real estate news, market updates and neighborhood happenings. I love all of NYC, but my heart belongs to Brooklyn.

So, I will be focusing on life in Brooklyn in the future. Each month focusing on a different neigborhood. To start off, I will tip my hat to Red Hook. Red Hook was hit hard by hurricane Sandy, but the neighborhood pulled together and persevered. Now Red Hook is one of the most sought after neighborhoods in the Real Estate market. New Yorkers love to get a taste of the sea in this enclave on the Upper Harbor.

Please reach out to me if you have any real estate specific questions, are curious about the best restaurants or food trucks, or wish to receive real estate news about your neighborhood.

MY BROOKLYN BEGINS WITH RED HOOK

Winter Festivities in New York

In Red Hook you will find some of the best places to stay cozy and warm along Van Brunt Street. A few of my personal favorites.

The Good Fork is a gastronmic fusion of South Asian and French cuisine, gauranteed to make you mouth water and tummy happy. Since their openning  in 2006 more and more New Yorkers have flocked to the Restaurant Row of Red Hook.

391 Van Brunt Street (Coffey Street), (718) 643-6636, goodfork.comTuesday to Sunday.

Fort Defiance is always jam-packed with foodies from near or far. They make the most of their tiny diningroom serving breakfast, lunch and dinner to the locals 6 days a week.

365 Van Brunt Street (Dikeman Street), (347) 453-6672, fortdefiancebrooklyn.com. Daily except Tuesday night.

Home/Made is a sample of heaven with a seasonal menu that is always spot on. Currently open for brunch, they also have a fabulous catering venue in the northern Hook on Commerce St.

293 Van Brunt Street (Pioneer Street), (347) 223-4135, homemadebklyn.comBrunch only, Saturday and Sunday, until later this year. Catering at atelierroquette.com

In the summertime as in winter there are great views from  Louis Valentino, Jr. Park and Pier
